OK. We're in the final moments of the big game. Only a few short days left until Christmas, then on to the madness of Boxing Week. Are you ready?
Well, guess what? At this stage of the game, it doesn't really matter. No, we're not just 'messing with your head'. The plain, unvarnished truth is that if your operation isn't already working at peak efficiency as of this very moment, it's too late to fix it. Tough news to hear at this point, but that's the way it is!
Does that mean it's time to pull you off the field? Not on your life! In this game, we play right down to the final bell. Regardless of how you have performed so far, there are still at least two things you head office types can and should be doing to make the best of whatever your situation is. But you must start right now!
Here they are:
1. Get everybody out into the stores! Not only will the help be appreciated, but there's no better learning experience for your corporate support team than exposing them to some real store action. Remember, "There ain't no money being made in the office ... it just gets spent there!"
2. Recognize your staff's outstanding efforts! Think about the long hours and hectic work environments your store employees are enduring right now. Show some appreciation! Try hosting an in-store staff breakfast or bring in treats during the day. Recognizing their efforts will go a long way when you're looking for great results.
Get these two critical 'plays' underway immediately with all the passion you can muster and we'll guarantee you one thing ... there most definitely is a Santa Claus! Ho! Ho! Ho!
